This is where gRPC stands out. In this presentation, Chris will provide a detailed exploration of how to effectively build production-ready gRPC microservices using Go.

Exploring the Go source code provides valuable insights into the inner workings of this robust programming language. This in-depth analysis reveals intriguing details about Go’s implementation, such as the mechanism through which slices handle shared arrays and the collaborative behavior of goroutines in conjunction with channels.

In high-traffic environments, backend applications must efficiently unmarshal vast amounts of data from both frontends and databases into Go data types. Traditional methods relying on reflection can introduce significant performance challenges. In this session, Sebastian will focus on how he uses code generation when handling 33 thousand requests per second to create explicit (un)marshaling routines, in order to bypass the performance limitations of reflection. This significantly reduces CPU utilization, allowing for the application to easily scale high traffic loads as well as effortlessly handle short traffic peaks.
